On Thursday March 9, 2017, The Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls, co-chaired by Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02), will present a panel of some of the nation’s mental health thought leaders, advocates, providers, researchers, everyday Black women, and her allies, for a U.S. Congressional level conversation on the social, economic, cultural, and political elements, which contribute to, or detract from, the mental wellness of Black women and girls.

Panelists include:

  • Chirlane McCray, First Lady of NYC & Leader of the Cities Thrive Coalition
  • Linda Goler-Blount, CEO of The Black Women’s Health Imperative
  • Kimberlyn Leary, Associate Professor of Psychology, Harvard School of Public Health
  • Jonathan Metzl, Director of the Center for Medicine, Health, & Society, Vanderbilt University
  • Nadia M. Richardson, Founder of Valenrich Wellness LLC
  • Lanada Williams, Provider Relations Specialist, D.C. Department of Behavioral Health
  • Nicole E. Kenney, Documentary Filmmaker, “It Starts With Me!”

This public event will take place in room 2044 Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. It will also live stream beginning at 12p via Congresswoman Kelly’s Facebook page @reprobinkelly.
