Dr. Metzl will be the keynote speaker for the health policy track at the combined MU Center for Health Policy and Center for Health Ethics Conference entitled, “Navigating the Complexity of Mental Health Needs in Society: The intersection of Ethics, Policy and Practice” on Friday, October 30, 2015, at the Stoney Creek Inn in Columbia, Missouri.
Conference participants will discuss issues at the intersection of mental health clinical practice, law, and ethics as well as review policy reform and advocacy actions aimed at improving treatment of people with mental and behavioral health conditions. This conference will also focus on navigating ethical challenges when working to improve access and delivery of mental and behavioral health services.
Each year the Centers continue to advance the mission of serving the needs of patients and providers throughout the state. The MU Health Ethics Conference and CHP’s Health Policy Summit have enjoyed growing success the past 13 years.
